Po Nagar are a unique remnant of the long lost Champa kingdom that stretched over the area of present day central and south Vietnam. The Cham population still lives as a minority in Vietnam as well as Cambodia and Thailand. They converted from hinduism and now mainly practice islam. The site of Po Nagar used to be their place of worship in the then city of Kauthara.
